Bulkhead Barbed Fittings for Panel Mounting

FOREACH bulkhead barbed fittings, also described as panel-mount hose barb fittings, connect flexible tubing on opposite sides of a panel, enclosure or internal partition in IVD, life science, laboratory automation and analytical instruments. They serve liquid supply, washing, circulation and drainage lines. The fitting passes through a panel hole and is secured by a matching nut, with tubing attached to the barbed ends on either side. Fluid flows through the fitting across the panel. The fixed interface keeps the connection in position and allows the tubing on either side to be replaced separately, supporting internal-to-external connections and grouped panel layouts.

The range includes PMB bulkhead barbed fittings and matching nuts such as PMBSN. Models with 1/4-28 UNF mounting threads fit tubing IDs of 1.6, 2.4 and 3.2 mm. Metric mounting options include PMB-M6-40 with an M6 thread for 4.0 mm ID tubing, PMB-M10-64 with an M10 thread for 6.4 mm ID tubing, and PMB-M12-79 with an M12 thread for 7.9 mm ID tubing. The central thread mounts the fitting to the panel, while the two barbed ends connect the tubing. Confirm tubing ID, panel-hole dimensions and nut specification separately. Materials include PP and PA according to model, with colors such as natural and white, selected to suit tubing dimensions and the equipment layout.

PMB-U28 models for tubing IDs of 1.6, 2.4 and 3.2 mm fit panels up to 3.5 mm thick. Select metric-thread models according to permitted panel thickness, usable mounting length and installation dimensions. Confirm sealing performance and pressure capability using tubing ID, wall thickness, hardness, barb design and working pressure. The panel nut secures the fitting; external lines exposed to tension or vibration may need additional support. Keep hole edges and fitting surfaces undamaged and allow space for nut tightening, tubing insertion on both sides and bends. Materials must suit the process fluid, cleaning fluid and working temperature. Where a seal between fitting and panel is required, select suitable sealing components for the enclosure design and verify their performance in the installed assembly.
