Programmable Pipetting Module for Automated Sample Dispensing

1000 μL is the nominal capacity; 0.02 μL per microstep is the drive increment in high-resolution mode, not a minimum reliable transfer volume. The datasheet includes a 2 μL performance point using a 20 μL tip, but this does not establish suitability for every liquid and tip. Define the usable range against the intended volume, tip, liquid, accuracy and repeatability requirements.

Read performance by tip size, actual volume and dispensing mode. On datasheet page 14, a 1000 μL tip dispensing 100 μL in Single mode has Accuracy ≤2% and Precision 0.75%; the corresponding Multiple row lists ≤3% and 2%. That page does not fully specify the test liquid, tip part number or statistical method. Confirm those conditions before project acceptance; these figures are not a universal guarantee.

pLLD is pressure-based liquid level detection, cLLD is capacitive detection and hLLD is hybrid detection. SMTP2 specifications support all three. Selection requires checking liquid properties, tip design, equipment grounding and axis motion, then validating detection positions and trigger conditions with the intended liquid. No method should be assumed to be best for every application.

The datasheet includes Multiple dispensing performance, providing a basis for evaluating one aspiration followed by several dispenses. The instrument must implement the required commands and motions. Check the total planned delivery and method allowances against available pump and tip capacities, and verify the first, intermediate and final aliquots separately. Nominal capacity alone does not guarantee a particular number of aliquots.
