SMTP2 Programmable Air Displacement Pipetting Modules

FOREACH SMTP2 programmable air displacement pipetting modules integrate drive, control and process monitoring. Disposable tips support sample aspiration, transfer, aliquoting and reagent addition. The SMTP2-1000 μL configuration has a nominal capacity of 1000 μL for integration into automated analyzers, sample preparation equipment and laboratory pipetting workstations.

SMTP2 offers pressure-based pLLD, capacitive cLLD and hybrid hLLD liquid-level detection, together with tip-blockage detection, tip-presence detection and automatic tip ejection. RS-232, RS-485 and CAN communication options provide pipetting-status feedback to the instrument host. The module works with positioning axes and the instrument's control program to coordinate aspiration, transfer, dispensing and exception handling.

For integration, determine aspiration and dispensing parameters from the working volumes, liquid properties, tips and vessels. Match the detection method and communication interface to the instrument's control system. The instrument supplies positioning axes, vessel positioning and exception-response logic; accuracy, repeatability and cycle time should be verified with the actual liquid and tips.
