When does a fluid system need a gas-liquid diaphragm pump?

Waste aspiration can involve liquid interrupted by air, so the pump must be selected for mixed gas-liquid handling. The DPGL800 overview introduces a brushless dual-head configuration for this type of task.

  • Check the medium throughout the cycle
Define whether the pump encounters liquid, air or alternating portions of both. Include the expected waste composition and cleaning fluids when checking the wetted materials.

  • Read the flow rating with its medium
The 6 L/min figure is single-head no-load gas flow. It must not be used as a liquid pumping rate or combined with the ultimate-vacuum value as though both occur at the same operating point.

  • Review the head and tubing arrangement
The dual-head layout allows different connection arrangements, subject to the product documentation. Confirm the chosen arrangement and measure aspiration time, line pressure and gas-liquid behavior in the complete circuit.

Review a pump designed for gas-liquid handling

Use the DPGL800 product page to check connections, materials and operating limits. Liquid-only diaphragm pumps should not be substituted simply because their nominal flow appears similar.
