What do these products do in this instrument?
Filters: Sampling Protection Permitted by the Method
Retain particles where pretreatment is permitted, coordinated with the definition of measured components and downstream analysis. Compare analytes in source and arriving samples, and include filter pressure drop and replacement recovery in maintenance records.
Filters provide method-permitted particle retention or component protection. Target components, pore size and filter material guide selection. Assess pressure drop, adsorption and recovery after replacement in the actual path.
Tubing and fittings: paths from the field to the analytical interface
Connect sampling location, drive and analytical interface. Check materials, bore and tubing volume against distance, water level and medium. Assess settling, mixing and shared-volume refresh at the actual receiver.
Tubing and fittings together form sealed connections and the actual transfer path. Check formulation, inner/outer diameters, length, tube-end positioning and port geometry, including added volume in residue and arrival delay.
Check valves: suitable backflow restriction in sampling/transport branches
Control permitted flow direction where backflow prevention is needed, coordinated with water level, suction/discharge lift and pump-stop states. Check opening load alongside actual transport volume. After maintenance, confirm sealing and sample renewal.
Check valves limit reverse flow in the permitted direction. Assess opening conditions, reverse leakage and added resistance together with the pump operating point. Check siphoning and the complete path's contamination-control boundary separately.
Design tubing and fittings as a complete wetted path
Tubing, fittings and ports jointly determine sealing, transfer volume and medium-contact coverage. Materials and dimensions must suit formulation, operating conditions and installation. Include tubing length and interface volume in priming, shared residue and arrival delay. After connection changes, recheck delivery and cleaning through the actual path.
Assess filtration, check-valve action and sample preservation separately
Filters provide method-permitted particle retention or component protection; check valves restrict backflow in the specified direction. Include filter adsorption, pressure drop after blockage, check-valve opening conditions and reverse leakage in installed-system assessment. For analytical samples or products, also check analyte recovery and blanks; mechanical protection cannot replace these results.

Compare product configurations by the roles on this page
| Product | Configuration option | Conditions to verify |
|---|---|---|
| PE-Series Filters | Particle retention permitted by the method | Cards show representative configurations. Select actual pore size and filter material for the target, pressure drop and recovery requirements. |
| Tubing materials and dimensions | Connection paths and shared volume | Bore, length, load and actual formulation jointly determine materials and dimensions |
| Rigid-tubing fittings | Tube-end positioning and sealed connections | Check tube outer diameter, threads, seal structure and port-bottom geometry |
| G-series check valves | Backflow limitation | The card shows a representative configuration. Confirm actual opening conditions, reverse leakage and medium separately. |

Protective filtration
Choose protection locations according to the method and record filter pressure drop and sample differences before and after maintenance. Filtered water must not automatically be treated as representative of total constituents in the original water.
Confirm product roles in actual operation
| Operation | Measurements and observations | Priority checks |
|---|---|---|
| Protective filtration | Compare analytes, recovery and blanks before and after filtration. Check pressure drop and actual flow after loading accumulates, and the first sample after replacement. | Blockage, adsorption, leakage or added filter-assembly volume can change the sample and its arrival time. |
Compare field and received samples for representativeness. Measure actual refresh and recovery after maintenance.
Does a fitting that tightens prove the tubing assembly is suitable?
Also confirm port geometry, tube-end positioning and seal fit. Check leakage, hold-up and performance after repeated maintenance under actual conditions; thread engagement alone is insufficient.
Nominal volume divided by flow estimates transport time; it does not establish complete sample renewal or representativeness.
