Where sampling occurs in the instrument
Identify the sampling port, analytical target and sample destination. Record separately how collected samples, stagnant-section renewal discard and other drainage affect process volume. Use paired samples to check representativeness, and confirm whether return/recovery is permitted by the procedure. Small systems cannot budget sampling consumption using collected sample volume alone.
Product responsibilities in this operation
Syringe drive and valve positions jointly organize aspiration, holding and dispensing. Record working volume, remaining inventory and replenishment timing according to the sequence.
For microbioreactor sampling, confirm analyte, sampling interval, renewal of retained liquid, discard budget and permitted pretreatment.
Organize the sequence by actual architecture
- Define the analytical target, sampling port, receiving vessel and permitted sampling interval. Budget collected samples, renewal discard and other drainage separately.
- Renew the sample through the actual hold-up path and record volumes sent to each destination. Confirm any return arrangement against the actual procedure.
- Check representativeness using paired samples. Record reactor-volume changes, sample identity and arrival time.
- After required isolation, check the contamination-control boundary. Before resuming an interrupted task, reconcile volume already withdrawn and current vessel state.
Define operating conditions for this task
| To define | Details |
|---|---|
| Actual operating conditions | Analyte, sampling interval, renewal of stagnant sections, discard-volume budget and permitted pretreatment |
| Acceptance target | Measure renewal time at the analytical or receiving interface and assess target representativeness using paired samples |
| Fault localization | Old-sample mixing, settling, adsorption or insufficient renewal time can make the sample unrepresentative of its source. |
Compare product configurations by the roles on this page
| Product | Configuration option | Conditions to verify |
|---|---|---|
| HLD rotary-valve syringe pump | Aspiration, holding and dispensing with a rotary valve | Check source/outlet valve positions, capacity budget and replenishment timing |
| HMD solenoid-valve syringe pump | Metered aspiration and dispensing with solenoid valves | Check open/closed and power-off states, working volume and replenishment cycle |
Validate operation results at the receiver
Measure renewal time at the analytical or receiving interface and assess target representativeness using paired samples.
Check cumulative feeding, sampling representativeness, volume balance and recovery during long runs.
Locate abnormalities and restore the next operation
Old-sample mixing, settling, adsorption or insufficient refresh time may make the received sample differ from its source.
Review actual results of affected steps before resuming the next action.
Bubble and pressure signals describe fluid-path conditions; they do not directly measure pH, dissolved oxygen or growth. Validate the complete aseptic boundary separately.
