What do these products do in this instrument?
Wash needles: well-washing interfaces and aspiration height
Provide supply or aspiration interfaces at actual wash stations, coordinated with plate type and motion position. For methods requiring solid-phase retention, also check aspiration height, residual liquid and method background.
Custom wash probes form the container interface for wash-fluid entry or residual-liquid extraction. Confirm supply coverage, aspiration height and drainage timing together with actual container shape.
Match component geometry to actual containers
The wash needle must suit the vessel opening, bottom, minimum liquid level and motion travel. Record actual contact surfaces and permitted positions before defining the tip, connection and motion clearance; appearance alone is insufficient for selection.
Evaluate interfaces by receiving or cleaning results
At the source, check reachable positions and low remaining volume; at the receiver, check actual volume, droplets or permitted residue. Test wetted-surface maintenance and recovery for the next container during consecutive operation. Reconfirm position and delivery after changing probes, tubing length or containers.

Related operations and architecture comparisons
Microplate washing and aspiration
Observe residual liquid, foam and solid-phase loss during each cycle. Insufficient supply, a misaligned wash head and delayed waste removal can cause similar symptoms and must be checked separately.
Confirm product roles in actual operation
| Operation | Measurements and observations | Priority checks |
|---|---|---|
| Microplate washing and aspiration | Evaluate solid-phase loss, post-wash residue and downstream assay background or nucleic-acid recovery together | Insufficient capture, incorrect aspiration height, uneven coverage or pooling may impair washing and recovery |
Assess differences in delivered volume between wells, residual liquid after washing and the complete plate cycle. Preserve well identities.
Can sampling and wash probes be replaced based on similar appearance alone?
Confirm tip, channels, interfaces and operating positions separately, then validate each probe's aspiration/dispensing or cleaning results. Similar appearance does not imply equal wetted volume, coverage or residual-liquid levels.
Multiport selection does not provide independent simultaneous channels. Validate washing through both liquid handling and retention of the required solid phase.
