01Where sample collection fits in the instrument

Define the measured sample components, sampling port, interval and destination. Assess stagnant sections, discard volume, return/recovery options and disturbance to culture volume. Check representativeness using paired samples.

Record sampling interval, retained volume and discard destination. Compare target results with reference samples before setting renewal time.

02Product responsibilities in this operation

Syringe drive and valve positions jointly organize aspiration, holding and dispensing. Record working volume, remaining inventory and replenishment timing according to the sequence.

For this online sampling task, confirm the analytical target, sampling interval, stagnant-section renewal, discard budget and permitted pretreatment.

03Organize the sequence by actual architecture

  1. Establish whether the measurement concerns cells/biomass or liquid-phase analytes. Confirm sampling port, interval, receiving destination and permissible volume disturbance.
  2. Plan sample renewal around actual hold-up sections. Record analytical sample, discard and any procedure-permitted returned volume separately.
  3. Check refresh time at the actual receiver, using paired samples to assess representativeness and analyte retention.
  4. Record contamination-control boundaries, sample identity and process volume. After maintenance or interruption, confirm the current state before resuming sampling.

04Define operating conditions for this task

Conditions, results and abnormality records for this operation
To defineDetails
Actual operating conditionsAnalyte, sampling interval, renewal of stagnant sections, discard-volume budget and permitted pretreatment
Acceptance targetMeasure renewal time at the analytical or receiving interface and assess target representativeness using paired samples
Fault localizationOld-sample mixing, settling, adsorption or insufficient renewal time can make the sample unrepresentative of its source.

05Compare product configurations by the roles on this page

06Validate operation results at the receiver

Measure renewal time at the analytical or receiving interface and assess target representativeness using paired samples.

Compare process and collected samples, checking target retention, contamination and reactor-volume changes.

07Locate abnormalities and restore the next operation

Old-sample mixing, settling, adsorption or insufficient refresh time may make the received sample differ from its source.

Review actual results of affected steps before resuming the next action.

Removing cell aggregates may change the measured target. Reduced valve-body contact through a pinch valve does not make the entire path sterile.

What Is a Programmable Syringe Pump? Operation, Fluid Routing and Automation

A programmable syringe pump uses a motor to control syringe plunger displacement and speed, executing aspiration, dispensing, pauses and repeated actions through commands. With a routing valve, it can connect reagent reservoirs, reaction vessels and wash paths into an automated dispensing process. Instrument development therefore needs to define volume, fluid connections and timing together.

What Is Pipetting? Manual and Automated Workflows Compared

Pipetting is the transfer of a specified volume of liquid from one location to another. Examples include moving 100 µL from a sample tube into a reaction vessel, or adding sample and diluent in a defined ratio.
