What do these products do in this instrument?
Sampling probes: control of receiving position in reaction cuvettes
Form container interfaces for sampling and dispensing, coordinated with metering drive and motion. Check wall contact, droplets, splashing and arrival delay together with actual assay timing.
Custom sampling probes connect source containers to receiving positions. Diameter, tip, surface and interface depend on sample and container. Tip geometry must work with metering drive and motion sequences.
Match component geometry to actual containers
Sampling probes must fit container openings, bottoms, minimum levels and motion strokes. Record actual contact surfaces and permitted positions before defining tips, interfaces and motion space; appearance alone is insufficient.

Evaluate interfaces by receiving or cleaning results
At the source, check reachable positions and low remaining volume; at the receiver, check actual volume, droplets or permitted residue. Test wetted-surface maintenance and recovery for the next container during consecutive operation. Reconfirm position and delivery after changing probes, tubing length or containers.

Related operations and architecture comparisons
Assay-specified sample delivery
Small sample doses require checks of tip droplets, cuvette-wall contact and the system-liquid interface. Measure at the actual reaction location to relate volume to results.
Reagent arrival and reaction timing
Measure dispensing delay and its variability before relating control events to detection timing. Recheck the delay after changing tubing length or probes.
Cleaning reused paths and recovering the first dose
Residual wash fluid may alter the next formulation or carry contamination. Check internal flushing, external coverage and the first dose through the cleaned path, evaluating residue effects with the assay.
Confirm product roles in actual operation
| Operation | Measurements and observations | Priority checks |
|---|---|---|
| Assay-specified sample delivery | Measure actual delivery at the receiver, covering routine small volumes and maximum task volume, first dose after idle, sample changes and high/low concentration sequences | Air aspiration, clots/particles, probe contact with a wall or leakage alter actual delivery |
| Reagent arrival and reaction timing | Measure volume, actual arrival time and complete-reaction results together | Mismatch between liquid arrival and control trigger, residual droplets or inadequate mixing may alter reaction initiation |
| Cleaning reused paths and recovering the first dose | Confirm supply and peak waste-removal capacity under installed resistance; measure residual liquid, carryover or assay-specified recovery | Insufficient supply, foam, dry aspiration and a full waste container disrupt the cleaning cycle |
Measure actual delivery and trigger timing at the reaction site and assess the effect of post-wash residue on the assay.
Can sampling and wash probes be replaced based on similar appearance alone?
Confirm tip, channels, interfaces and operating positions separately, then validate each probe's aspiration/dispensing or cleaning results. Similar appearance does not imply equal wetted volume, coverage or residual-liquid levels.
Pump or valve response time is not the reagent-contact or instrument measurement-start time.
